PDS is a multi-award winning boutique landscape architecture practice specialising in thoughtful and intelligent design processes for both public and private realm projects. We have more than 30 years of experience in crafting, designing and producing useful and elegant places to inhabit, including individual homes, medium and higher density housing and public realm places.

PDS has extensive experience in Master Planning and Urban Design projects including multi unit residential, institutional environments brown and green-fields residential sites.

Garth Paterson

Principal Landscape Architect / Urban Designer

Garth is an accomplished Urban Designer and registered Landscape Architect with 30 years of experience throughout Australia and the United States. Garth has a Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture and a Master of Landscape Architecture in Urban Design from Harvard University. He has taught at RMIT as a Lecturer, and established a highly successful practice based in Melbourne that delivered numerous professionally recognised and awarded public and private realm projects throughout Victoria and NSW. Garth also spent several years as National Design Manager for Stockland, where he drove the design process and delivered numerous major Master Planning and Urban Design projects throughout Australia.

Today Garth runs an accomplished and successful practice Paterson Design Studio (PDS) based in Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

In 2011 Garth was elected a Life Member of the Australia Institute of Landscape Architects as a Fellow.

Elin Tidbeck

Senior Landscape Architect

Elin is a highly skilled and accomplished Swedish Landscape Architect who brings to PDS extensive design and contract documentation experience. Elin was educated at the Swedish Agricultural University, Uppsala, Sweden and achieved a Master of Science in Landscape Architecture, and Purdue University, Indiana, where she completed the Landscape Architecture Program. She has worked as a Senior Landscape Architect in Sweden's Temagruppen Sverige AB, and taught at the Swedish Agricultural University for three years as a studio critic and lecturer. For seven years Elin worked as a Landscape Architect at the renowned design practice Design Workshop in Denver, Colorado, and delivered many public and private realm projects throughout the United States.

Belinda Paterson

Office Manager

Belinda runs the day-to-day management of the office.
Educated at The University of Sydney majoring in Fine Arts and completed graduate curatorial studies at COFFA. During the past 15 years Belinda has specialised in the management of public and private art collections.

As a fine art specialist she has managed major art projects nationally, including the implementation of sculpture into the public realm and the development of corporate and private fine art collections. Collections include: AWB, Melbourne; Bristol, Myer Squibb, Victoria; Colonial First State, Melbourne; Bluescope Steel, Melbourne; Gandel Group, Melbourne; Victorian Workcover; Docklands, Melbourne; Vero, Melbourne.

Florencia Aimone

Architect

Florencia has a Master Degree in Architecture from the University of Buenos Aires. She has experience in project, construction management and interior design. Before coming to Australia, Florencia worked for an architecture studio, participating in a variety of residential and commercial projects throughout Argentina. She also worked for particular projects, as a Construction Manager and Interior Designer Assistant, where she gained versatility and knowledge in different fields.

Dylan Charles

Landscape Draftsman

Dylan has a Diploma of Building Design from Sydney Tafe, and is currently studying Bachelor of Landscape Architecture at University of Technology Sydney. He works alongside Garth and Elin on both public and private realm projects. He has worked in landscape construction which has given him first-hand experience within the industry.

Katie Amos

Marketing & Communications

Katie has a degree majoring in Theatre and Film from the University of New South Wales. She finished her degree at the University of British Columbia in Canada and went on to study PR in London. Over the past 16 years she has worked in Public Relations in London, Sales and Advertising in Sydney, and her main area of work was in television production for the Nine Network Australia and Granada Productions. Today Katie has joined PDS to assist in all areas of Marketing and Communications.
