AILA 2023 NSW Excellence Award Winner – Land Management Category

Elara Riparian Parklands by Paterson Design Studio (PDS)

At the 2023 Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) NSW Awards Ceremony the Elara Parklands, Marsden Park was formally recognised with an Award of Excellence in the Land Management category. According to the judges, the Elara Riparian Parklands, designed by Paterson Design Studio, amply demonstrate how landscape architecture can contribute to the transformation of long vacant and degraded per-urban lands to achieve high quality community recreation facilities, restore scenic landscapes and create sustainable environments that build critical ‘stepping stone’ links to neighbouring remnant bushland.

The AILA NSW Awards are judged by a group of seven landscape architects. In total 39 projects were recognised across a range of categories for their dedication to nature, ecology and consultation with the community, including with First Nations People.
