The Community Housing sector is one of the areas in which PDS has extensive experience. We have created landscape design packages (DA / CDC / CC) for over 350 LAHC/Group homes across NSW in the last eight years working with organisations such as BlueCHP (60 + projects), Seton Villas (6 + projects) and Landcom (most recently the LAHC project at Airds, Bradbury). We are currently listed on the Government Architects Strategy and Design prequalification scheme (SCM0801) and in December 2020 we gave a presentation (via Microsoft Teams) to LAHC staff about some of our project experience and our approach to community housing. Our long established involvement in this sector has enabled us to develop a successful design approach and a material palette that is robust, residential in character and tried and tested over an eight year period. It has also given us a deep understanding of, and familiarity with, the SEPP 65 Apartment Design Guide (2015) in addition to the Department of Housing standards and relevant FACS guidelines.
